The South Devon Railway traverses some of Devon's most glorious scenery. The River Dart is a fast flowing salmon river, which has its origins high up on Dartmoor and becomes tidal just outside Totnes. Wildlife abounds in and around both the river and railway. Combine a nostalgic trip behind a steam locomotive, along a branch of the legendary Great Western Railway with a chance to view at leisure an almost inaccessible part of the countryside. Our station at Totnes is 464 yards from the mainline station and is the within easy walking distance of the council car parks. Off our station platform is the Totnes Rare Breeds Centre. At Buckfastleigh there is ample free parking. As well as our preserved Great Western engines and coaches at Buckfastleigh, there is also a small museum, model railway, children's play area, shop, cafe and picnic area.
